SummaryXNET is updating the device ownership transfer process to simplify rewards distribution and reduce manual intervention. Starting Epoch 77, rewards will go to the operator and wallet listed at the end of the epoch, while operators retain flexibility to manage transitions privately.
Ownership Change Procedure (Oct 2025)
To support large-scale network growth, XNET is refining how unit ownership transfers are handled to simplify onboarding and reward distribution.
Current Process
When an operator transfers a unit, both the sender and receiver register the change.
Once both approve, the unit is reassigned to the new owner.
If the transfer occurs mid-epoch, rewards must currently be split manually, causing delays and inconsistencies.
New Procedure
Starting Epoch 77 (Oct 27 – Nov 9, 2025), ownership changes will still require dual confirmation via support ticket
Rewards for each epoch will now be distributed entirely to the operator and wallet listed at the end of that epoch.
Operators will need to privately decide how to divide rewards for the transition epoch if needed.
Limiting transfers to specific dates was considered but rejected to preserve operator flexibility.
