XIP-10 'Pause'
Amendment: Temporary Pause
Author: Brady Ashdown Summary/Purpose This XIP proposes to pause the reduction in total supply of XNET tokens as enacted by the original XIP 10.
XIP 10 was implemented to significantly reduce the total supply of XNET in order to address concerns around future dilution and incentivize long term network development.
Rationale Since the enactment of XIP 10, the token price has steadily reduced each month. Verbal community consensus has been reached around the idea that the all of the intended purposes in the original XIP 10 proposal are either not being reached or not fully addressed via XIP 10.

The Foundation Working Group proposes to PAUSE the token burns outlined in XIP 10, effectively immediately. It is anticipated that the Foundation Working Group will continue to gather information and input from tokenomics experts and the community at large in order to (1) shore up the token price, (2) address the “token overhang” issues outlined in XIP 10, and (3) most sustainably incentivize long term network growth. The Foundation Working Group commits to reconvene to evaluate the continuance of this “XIP 10 Amendment: Temporary Pause” proposal 45 days after its original enactment, on or around March 1, 2025.
